  • Agilent Technologies Inc. agreed to buy Dako, a Danish maker of cancer-diagnostics tools, for $2.2 billion. Santa Clara-based Agilent (NYSE: A), a maker of scientific-testing equipment, is looking to expand its life-science business with the purchase. The acquisition is the largest ever for Agilent, a company that was spun out from Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ) more than 10 years ago.

Van Rompuy also said he was "very concerned" about the situation in Greece. He called it the "defining moment for the country" and urged Greek political leaders to support a solution to the crisis.
